Almost Jazz
http://almostjazz.webs.com/

Our style varies from jazz standards to current day popular music. Almost Jazz has band members Ernie Pellegrino on Drums-Percussion, Paul Foschino on Guitar, and Rich Hererra on Bass & Guitar.

We also feature the wonderful alto vocals of Paula Auteri. Paula allows us to broaden our repertoire to include such Jazz standards as: "At Last" - Etta James, "Fever" - Michael Buble`, "Moondance" - Van Morrison, "Fly me to the Moon" - Sinatra, and "Summertime" - Billie Holiday.

We've recently added some current  titles such as; "I Don't Know Why" - Nora Jones, "If I Ain't Got You" - Alicia keys, "Sway" - Michael Buble` and "Gravity" from John Mayer to name a few.

Each year we look forward to the Photo & Art Show. This allows us to share our passion for music in an environment filled with beautiful artistic talent.

17 North Blues Band
201-794-1020

Five of us (Herb joined later) started the band 3.5 years ago. "Daddy T" Toker (Charlie) is a real virtuoso, master of the chromatic and diatonic harmonicas. He is our great soloist and leader of the band. Frank Altomare studied guitar for a long time and is a very talented player and singer. Jeremiah Healy's bass playing is second to none; he is singing and playing extremely well. Barry Glick has been playing the accordion since he was able to lift one. He is our dependable soloist and background player who is always on time and can be counted on for any gig. Herb is a professional musician and his drums keep us in order. He is our conductor.

Mike Murray started playing the trombone at age 12, and started to study at the Conservatory in Budapest when he was 15. After a 37 year break, he started playing again nine years ago, first in church and later in a blues group. From that group, the 17 North Band was formed. We practice weekly at Barry's house. We call it the "sandbox", since we play and enjoy every minute of it. So, if anyone hears us playing, they may have fun, too! Our repertoire is around 100 songs, spanning many different types of music. However, we can play blues for hours. Just lately Bernice started singing with us and hopefully she will join us at the Exhibit. She has a beautiful voice and is a very talented lady.”

Top of the Hill

We three Rockwells (Jed, Andrew and Susan) enjoy making music together. Andrew and Susan were introduced many(!) years ago for the purpose of making music by our dear friend Hanora. When Jed came along we saw to it that he got the musical exposure and experience to participate in whatever ways he might choose. We are inspired by various genres of music from standards of Jazz, Blues, Country and Rock (for Jed the more contemporary stuff!). We've played as duets, trios and in band combos (Top of the Hill and the newly formed U2 cover band that Jed is part of). The St. Catherine Art Show is a delightful event to which we are pleased to add our musical efforts.

Lenape Road
http://sites.google.com/site/lenaperoad/home

Lenape Road plays a mix of music from the American Songbook, Latin styles, pop, fusion, bebop, and more.

When you love to play music and maybe especially when you love to play jazz music, it tends to become a lifelong obsession. It is difficult to find any other explanation for why seven musicians from a variety of backgrounds and with an eclectic mix of musical experiences including folk, bluegrass, rock, soul, classical and of course jazz would continue to work together to play this extraordinary music.

We could drop some names….after all, the musicians in Lenape Road have played and studied with some of the greatest like Ella Fitzgerald, Coleman Hawkins and Joe Morello. But, it’s not about that, it’s about playing and loving the music, paying it homage even as you improvise with it differently every time you play it. It’s about having fun with the music and letting the audience have fun with it too.

Initiation

It was late 2009 that Initiation’s birth began. It all started with Justin Patricolo’s anticipation and ever- so-longing desire to be in a rock group. His best good buddy, Mike Cerruti, also shared his dream of being in a band and playing bass.

After numerous jam sessions and guitar lessons, they played with others at their first gig in a local middle school talent show. Very soon after, they went their separate ways and played in many different rock groups. While Mike was off playing in his own local band, Justin wasn’t really doing much. Then a year later at another local middle school talent show, he met one of the key people that would lead to Initiation’s ultimate creation.

This singer led Justin to meet the future amazing drummer for Initiation, Derek Finley. After hearing his drumming abilities for not even two minutes, it was certain that the three of them would form a band. Three months went by and not one gig was booked or one song completely learned. After a year and several line-up changes, nothing seemed to click, until Mike Cerruti stepped back into the picture. He was a free agent and when Justin asked him to play one show with him and Derek, he couldn’t refuse.

By the end of their first practice they already had their first original, “Summer City”. They then played their first gig in the summer of 2010 as “Chocolite” together, and it went nearly perfectly. After that they decided on their new official name, “Initiation”. They have since recorded a seven-track EP at Clear Cut Studios (with the amazing mixer Max Caselnova) titled “Chocolite” and have played many a show in northern New Jersey.
